Lonelygirl15 The Hoax - Home Schooled Entertainment or Viral Marketing?

Do you remember where you were when Lonelygirl15 was exposed as a hoax? Perhaps the revelation was not quite worthy of its importance, but the fact is that millions of people not only question but, more important, see, for months. This was one of the most successful attempts at viral marketing history, and if so, what is sold? First, a little back ground for those who have not been connected to the Internet or exposed to the media in recent weeks.

What I intended to accomplish may be an issue worthy of concern, if there was a way to track the money. If it was made for purpose of self - by the filmmakers, which was very successful in one of the most massive examples of viral marketing in our time. The problem is that they have been recognized for the production of images nobody would buy a ticket to go see. The fact that they made a cultural phenomenon in a matter of weeks is probably closer to the import of this trick.
