Toast to Resveratrol, an Amazing Grape Antioxidant

One of the best known stories about the health benefits of eating fruit is called the paradox French â € "the condition of unexpected low incidence of cardiovascular disease in French citizens who regularly eat extraordinary amounts of food rich in fat and consume red wine. Most pressing health resveratrol effect shown in studies laboratory is its broad spectrum of activity against cancer. The online database of medical literature from the National Institutes of Health USA, PubMed, cited by 500 publications in the last decade of research on resveratrol as a cancer chemopreventive nutrient.

Experimental models of cancer breast, prostate, lung, blood, skin, brain, kidney, bladder, tongue, esophagus and colon cancer tests to demonstrate the beneficial effects of resveratrol. They also appear to sensitize the cells to the agents of cancer therapy, enhancing the benefit of these drugs. Also, when combined with other plant phenolic derivatives, the fight against the actions of resveratrol in cancer appears to be higher, which shows the possible synergy benefits of antioxidants of a varied diet rich in fruits and vegetables rich in color phytochemicals.

Resveratrol action to inhibit inflammatory mediators and growth of new blood blood in tumors (called anti-angiogenesis), and its ability to accelerate the rate of cancer cell death (called apoptosis, "po-eh-toe-sis"), are the effects of synergy in anti-cancer activity. In other experiments, resveratrol inhibits the synthesis of enzymes nitro-oxygen radicals such as nitric oxide, that may be involved in cancer development.

In summary, resveratrol acts against the control mechanisms of initiation, promotion and the progression of tumor cell growth in laboratory models. It is considered one of the most promising natural anti-cancer agents.

OR wines (and even the whites, but with lower levels of resveratrol)
oBlackberries, blackberries, blueberries and cranberries (and their juices)

oPeanuts skins and peanut butter
