ALA is beneficial to human skin, mainly by virtue of its antioxidant potential. The universal antioxidant inhibits cross-linking and thus slows the process aging. It guarantees the wrinkles of the skin, hardening of the arteries and stiffness. In a short-term study, a high dose of ALA was found to reduce mild to moderate wrinkles by up to 50 percent.
